Show I I Little Leaguers Lined up 0 for Season Play Piny All young boys interested in baseball south of South in Bountiful have been lined up for participation in one of the 16 organized teams in the Val Verda Verda Verda Ver- Ver da League according to lo Da David id Nelson president of oC the league Mr 11 Nelson announced that boys are drawn from all the North Salt Lake Orchard Val Verda Woods Cross and Bountiful area to fit into the teams in each of the four leagues Mr 1 elson says sas the first two leagues the Major and Triple A are now in their third week of competitive playing There are arc four teams on each of these two leagues Mr Nelson explained that the First Minor 1 League and Second Minor League have not started competitive playing inasmuch inasmuch in in- as there have not been sufficient men to manage the teams At least two or three more men are needed before Monday to lo get these teams into action They hope to start their regular games then The league requires 45 to 50 men to manage manage man man- age the 16 teams Mr Mr Nelson said the Major I League and Triple A League will play all their games at the South Davis Jr High baseball field The First Minor League will play baseball at the South Bount Bountiful rul Elementary baseball fields and the Second Minor linor League will play ball at the South Bountiful field and the North Salt Lake Park baseball field Mr Nelson explained that while the Little League in this in-this this area has only been in operation for the past three years the membership has grown by 40 new members each year There were 12 teams the tho first fast year 14 teams the second year and 16 teams this year He lIe further ex ex- I that they followed the Western Boys Baseball program Each team plays competitively within its own league only rw |
