inform you that they recently instructed their inspector to exi examine and report as to the condition of the standpipes stand pipes belonging to the city and used to supply water for sprinkling the streets the report now at band indicates that the aforesaid standpipes stand pipes are in a condition of flagrant disrepair and that their condition involves an enor enormous mons waste of water waste the receivers respectfully submit is very detrimental to the interests in trusted to them and is of advantage to no one the beacon of the tle year is at hand when the consumption of water is largely increased and the available supply is rapidly diminished in view of these facts the receivers believe it to be the duty of every one exercising authority in the city of ogden as well as of every private citizen to conserve the water supply and te to reduce to a minimum the waste of water caused by leaking pipes and the careless handling of water taps tape with this end in view the receivers
