Show PACIFIC RUMOR nonpayment non payment of interest on bonds denied by new york dec 29 0 ton said in regail to the rumor of the nonpayment non payment of the dividend on the bonds of the central pacific that they probably got a start from the recent revision of the lease between the two roads tho original lease from the central pacific to the southern pacific made in 1889 contained the following provision if at any time it appears that by operation of this agreement either party is being at the expense of the other this agreement ahall be revised and changed so that such will not bo alie operation thereof l rom the statements of the two roads it appears that for several years past the business of bogli has been such that the centra has profited at the expense of the southern pacific therefore it was considered the time had come for revision of alie terms of the lease and such cliance was accordingly made under the revised lease the central pacific ia entitled to all of its earnings until such earnings shall not exceed six per cent on the par 1 of the outstanding capital stock of the central pacific after which any excess of earnings are to be divided equally between alio central pacific and the southern pacific |
