Show AN ACT in relation to elections and tenure of office be it enacted by the governor and legislative assembly of the territory of 0 utah rion L that on the tuesday next after I 1 the he first monday in november leja and meni thereafter a Feli general eral e election lection shall be held beld throughout the territory errit e ory forthe tor lie election of territorial county and precinct officers ott who b by lw law are or may be made mace elective and all sug such oft officers loers so elected shall quality and enter upon the duties of their respective offices on the agon uret rat day of jajuan january next succeeding their election and a co continue urine in office for two years and until the heir r s successor u are duly elected and qualified provided that county collectors shall not enter upon the duties of until the firel first day of june of the year next succeeding their e election ec sze 2 that the official term of the present incumbents of any of the offices mentioned in the foregoing section except county collectors whose who term is hall fall extend to june 1 1693 shall I 1 extend to the first day of january 1893 and until their successors are duly elected and quail fied fled but not longer site 3 that on the tuesday next after the first monday Monda 7 in november 1892 there shall be held an election I 1 in each city town village and school district in the territory except such cities which wb ich shall have held an election in 1892 prior to may 81 1 1682 1892 to fill 1111 all offices of the same or thereto which by law arbor may be made elective and the officer officers so elected shall shail quality and eiter upon the duties of their respective offices on the first day of january 1893 and continue in office ul till I 1 the first dav a of I 1 January 1894 and until their successors are duly auly elected and qualified lOed that the incumbent incumbents of the offices mentioned in this section may con dinue therein and exercise the functions thereof till the first day of january W and until their heir successors are duly elected and qualified but not longer SEC 4 that on the tuesday next alter after the first monday in november and biennially thereafter there shall be held an election tn in each city town village and school district in the territory to fill all all offices of the same lamo or pertaining thereto which by law are or may in b be made elective also for mom members be rs of the le si tive assembly and the officers then thenn elec cd shall quail quality fir and enter upon the duties of their respective offices on the first day of january next succeeding their election and ana continue in office tor for two years and until their successors are duly elected and qualified SEC 5 that all acts and parte parts of acts in so far as a hey they provide for holding hold lne elections to fill 1111 a any 1 y of the offices mentioned in u this act other th than an for special elections to fill vacancies orin or in an any manner for filing the tenure of such e u e it go otherwise ther than as in this act provi d e d are STO hereby repealed sic fl 6 nothing in this act ball shall apply to cities of the metropolitan class 1 SEC 7 this act shall lake uke effect from and after may si 1833 1892 approved barch march 10 I 1 hereby certify that the 0 fore for colne eLoIne Is a correct copy cop witness my hand and ofal official cici beala sea Beal L this lath dakof march IW ELIJAH gells SELLS secretary of utah territory |
