HOMESTEAD nov 14 not since the memorable ath of july were bullets so plentiful as sunday afternoon inside of twenty minutes over fifty shots were fired and 1 fourth avenue was in a wild state of p panic a n c an and of disorder humors were plentiful u 1 of persons being wounded and killed but the only ones serio seriously u y hurt apparently I 1 y are three striker strikers 11 mcfadden d den jones Jone and sand prichard all of whom have alel flesh wounds I 1 three negroes were also badly beaten about 4 that afternoon two colored men who work in a mill were met by a striker and after some words the latter knock knocked tol one ol 01 them down with characteristic te iud suddenness denness about persons assembled cru bled in a few moments hoil both negroes I 1 fought hard but stones began to fly and they were being bested when one drew a I 1 revolver and opened fire by this time fully people on tho the street and a panic started three men knocked down the second negro and when ho lie arose he had two revolvers in his bands hands he started 11 to run shooting backwards over his shoulders in a wild manner Asa As a result a bov boy received a flesh in his leg when the fleeing negro reached city farm farni lane six other colored men came along and were also assaulted they all drew guns and und rushed down the street some one heaved a brick which hit washington caulson on alleys A woman aar paralyzed by fear stood in the alley and one ot of the non iron unionists shot at her tier three times one bullet passing through a shawl she had thrown over liar head the tile
