Show ' FOR LIABLE. Jas. II. Wallis, Editor of the Ne- phi Ensign, has been arrested and bound over to await the action of the Grand Jury, on a charge of liable. Mr. Wallis has very ably defended defend-ed himself in the columns of the Ensign, En-sign, whatever his lawyers may have done for him in the sacred halls of justice. The law relating to liable, the responsibility of publishers, and what constitutes a liable, axe about as sensible and definite, as were the laws on treason. Mr. Hants is, a gentleman that has the respect of his fellow citizens who in case this, matter is pushed to extrenis, will, probably see that it does not cost htm a cent. Brace up old boy, a newspaper is never firmly established in the hearts of the people, until it has passed through the fire of law in, their behalf. |
