death cincinnati june 15 one of the most fearful accidents tn in the h history of this vicinity occurred today to day I 1 it was the fall of the bridge in ili course of construction over the tile licking river between covington and newport of forty five workmen on tho tile structure so far as known only two escaped unhurt all the others were either killed by crushed crushed iron and timber or drowned the cause is supposed to bethe bo the weakening acen neof of t the ie wooden false work the high big water washed out the tile earth supports the e men today to day ay were engaged under the dir direction action of robert an and william il lain baird contractors in placing heavy iron work on oil the main span without barnin warning except a sudden crackling of timbers and swaying of the construction st between the tile two cities the contractors for the iron work were baird bros pittsburg they were andrew and robert baird and they both went down to death with their two score or more
