Show resolutions OF RESPECT bishop john sharps memory is honored at a regular meeting of the board of directors of the union pacific hallway railway company held hold in the city of boston on wednesday the day of april 1892 the chairman submitted the following preamble and resolutions which on motion moton of mr ames d anly aly seconded were eye unanimously adopted by arising vote whereas since the last regular meeting of the board the death bai has been announced of john sharp a member of the board of directors director of this company compan vand and of its predecessor company the union pacific railroad company continuously since march 10 1875 whereby the company buffers the loss of one of its most active and efficient directors identified especially with the interests of the company in the territory of utah and in whose judgment and experience his associates on the board have during all the intervening years entertained the fullest degree of confidence and whereas it is appropriate that this board should place on record some expression of its estimation of the high character ability and integrity of the deceased resolved that in the death of mr sharp the tenion union pacific railway company has been deprived of the counsel and services of a safe se and prudent adviser and the intelligent support of one C of I 1 its oldest and most steadfast friends one who during the term of his official connection with the company rendered it great service by bis his intelligent devotion to its interests bis his zeal for its welfare and his active efforts in its behalf asa member of the board he brought to its councils the exper experience lence of a successful business busi nees ea care erand as one of 0 the pioneers in the development of the resources 0 of I 1 utah and the intermountain inter mountain region tributary to this companas comp anys lines he was peculiarly fitted to advise the board concerning cern inc the interests of the company I 1 in 11 that territory ula his high character and business integrity attracted the attention of the officers of the company before b be 8 wa was 9 invited to take a seat in this board and during the period of bis his official connection with the company the faith then re reposed deed in him has remained unshaken HF his a honesty of purpose simplicity of character and staunch devotion to the interests of this cm company pany welt well as to the people of utah whom b be e so loyally served and ably represented deserve the th rec recognition I 1 on of this board and it therefore desires to perpetuate in its minutes this tribute of respect and esteem resolved that the foregoing reeola res ol 01 a eions be entered in full fall upon the com banys records and a copy thereof be furnished to the family of the deceased |
