republican club held their regular meeting at the federal court room last evening at 8 p in preal dent baldridge ldridge Ua presiding the first matter brought before the M meeting was the report of the committee on constitution and bye laws on motion of gen minty tile motion by which part of the constitution discussed some weeks ago agot bad had been adopted wa wai reconsidered and eaid said parts arts ordered laid on the table pending fa g the reading of the new no constitution mr painter then read the const itu till tion adopted by the majority of eastern republic republican can clubs under the re publican league of the united states after some minor changes applicable app lie to the local organization the constitution was adopted as follows ARTICLE 1 the name of thia this club shall b be 6 the republican club of ogden city and weber county ARTICLE 11 the objects of this club shall be to advocate promote and maintain the principles of republicanism as enunciated by the republican party to direct and interest in politics thole who have hitherto cecamore been bec more amore orless or less indifferent to their political duties to encourage attendance at the primary prima Z meetings in order that honest h onest and capable men ma may be nominated to auard guard and debeny defend the he purity of the ballot allot box to promote the cause of good government to work in harmony with and carry out the plan of permanent republican club orvaul organization al and A to perform such other work as may best beat conserve the interests of the republican party ARTICLE III this thi a club shall not endorse any candidate for any public office except those duly dull nominated by b y the regular national Nati national state congressional senatorial and county conventions of the republican party part y and in no case lase c shall any democrat be endorsed ARTICLE IV the officers of this club shall be a president resident three vice presidents des ignatee gnatek as first and second and third a secretary and a treasurer who shall be members ex officio of the exe executive gutive committee 11 it ARTICLE v the standing committees of thia this dob club shall be an executive committee a committee on membership a committee on finance other committees may be appointed from timeto time to time as are deemed d necessary ARTICLE VI the president vice president pros dent secretary treasurer treasur ers and the members of the executive committee shall bo be elected by a majority vote five members of the executive committee shall be an annually elected for the term of three years in the place of those whose term of office shall have expired and not more than three names shall be voted for on any one ticket vacancies shall be ba filled for the residue of the current term at a regular g of the club after due notice in the call for said meeting each boffl officer car and the members of the several committees shall assume the duties of their respective offices at the regular meeting in the april following their election ARTICLE VU the president or oro in hla his absence one of the vice presidents presidents shall preside at all meetings of the club correspond correspondence enco odthe of the club clu band and discharge such other duties as may be assigned to him by the club or the executive committee ARTICLE IX tha the treasurer shall collect the request of said I 1 committee ARTICLE X the executive committee shall consist of fifteen members together with the president vice presidents five the th sere secretary c tary ana and treasurer but five members shall constitute a quorum quor m M to transact business busine s the committee cum attee shall bave have the control and management of the affairs funds fund and sand property of the club it may direct treasurer to make disbursements account of the club ARTICLE XI 11 0 the finance committee shall consist of five members member a every vacancy vaca ncy occurring in the said committee shall be filled by the chair ARTICLE XII this constitution maybe may be amended b by an affirmative vote ot of two thirds of 01 the members present at a regular meeting providing that notice of each some discussion for and id against and the motion was finally final y withdrawn and the motion that president rog tent baldridge consult with the chairman of the county central committee as to the advisability of calling a territorial convention wai wal substituted this was changed to a cum committee attee of five and the motion then carried the chair appointed aa as bald said committee W 11 II
