0 ewie ceremonies 0 the impressive impre Iye ceremonies of the independent order of odd fellows follows in the dedication dc atlon of their new hall ball was witnessed bv by a lare large gathering last evening every preparation had been perfected and nothing interfered to mar the solemnity of th the e 0 occasion casion As early as 3 in the a afternoon the members of different bratic branches hei of the order began to assemble at their ball at 4 15 a platoon of police arrived and escorted the lodge to the depot th ogden city band in full uniform headed beaded the procession and as the command to move was obeyed the brilliant assemblage started to meet their brethren from salt lake like the line of march waa was down twenty fourth street to grant avenue thence south to twenty fifth street thence west to the depot arriving at the union depot the members of canton ogden no 2 were mustered into line to await the arrival of the train at 4 30 vie t ie train pulled into tie ti e stalio nand a ad the grand lodge officers of tile grand lodge 1 1 11 0 of I 1 utah by a I 1 delegation 1 11 9 tion rom tom the subordinate lodges of salt lake stepped upon the platform toe band struck up a march and at the caroman 1 11 fall in in the procession BID a started for the ball the procession sion aa as it left the depot was headed by cit city marshal J W and nod marshal shat of the dav E 8 luty both on horseback next came a platoon of police under the command of sergeant kice chas h s tyree mounted marshals aids aide george vere verge and J 8 wallace followed the e the ogden city oil band canton ogden no 2 under command of captain lewis and the officers of the grand lodge followed next in line were the members of the encampment and 41 subordinate lode lod e the procession moved east on twenty fifth street to washington avenue thence north to twenty fourth street thence west on twenty fourth street to their hall ball arriving at their ball the command to halt was obeyed and the canton separated to allow the grand of officers ficere to papa pass into the building the enc encampment a m and subordinate lodges followed or the canton bringing up the rear tear commander lewis called the lodge to order and informed the visitors visitors that thet they w would be escorted to the broom hotel otel at 7 and at 8 would reassemble at the hall ball the procession was one of the most gorgeous which has been seen in the city for some time the members of the different branches of the order in in their band handsome some regalia re ealia and their efficiency in the manual of arms was an impressive and vl pleasing bight eight the tile canton ogden no 2 called forth the admiration of the spectators as they escorted the grand lodge officers into the ball following are the presence shortly after 7 canton no 2 beaded by the ogden band escorted the members of the grand lodge to the broom hotel where a sumptuous supper was spread at 8 the visitors were escorted back to tha the hall ball and a few minutes later the dedication exercises commenced the spacious and beautiful room was crowded with tho the members of the order and their friends the daughters of rebekah Ke queen city lodge no 4 occupied con elicious epi cious oua places pieces and their bright regalia and handsome hanJa ocoe attire added to the beauty b ot tho the surroundings poet post grand J D hard delivered the opening udd address reso and welcomed the grand officers and vi visiting elting brethren lie recited a short abort history of the foundation of the order and its growth and success of the increase of the order in this territory from a membership of to in a period of one year the foundation of the canton ogden no 2 and the daughters of rebekah of queen city lodge no 4 the speaker then turned the tile hall over to the grand officers grand master whitely took the chair and said 1 I accept this hall ball for the purposes tor for which it was constructed the dedication ceremonies were then read from the ritual of the order after Ve marks by the other grand officers followed by the anniversary ode by the ch choir the ball was duly dedicated to the independent order of odd fel 1 el lows an exi excellent ellent pro gramme of exercises bad had been arranged which commenced bv a piano solo by miss ada barratt Barr alt the rendition of the selection was excellent and was heartily applauded miss bliss bessie booth recited the alphabet of the 1 I 0 0 F and waa rewarded by well merited applause A vocal selection by mrs dr ir cook was one of the 0 events ments of the evening the misses aliases klaus in their violin and flute duet received applause which brought alorth forth an encore grand grard secretary J J thomas was announced by the tile chairman and after a few introductory remarks said brothers and sisters of the order of odd fellows follows in the anniversary ode the first line of the first verse is is fling wide our banner bauner although the lodges of ogden have a banner the brethren of the order in salt lake laite have seen fit to present you with an emblem which will float over this temple an american flag the tile speaker espred out a handsome flag lift 16 feet by 24 feet at the sight of which the applause was deafening introduced the chairman then introduced brother turner mayor turner of ogden who addressed the assemblage in a few well chosen words mr turner said 1 I did not expect to be called upon to make any re marks otherwise I 1 wo would uld ha have v ant e been eon better prepared but I 1 thank you all for your patience in listening to what I 1 have eaid said other musical selections vocal and instrumental were rendered which were well received the pro gramme closed with an instrumental solo by miss ada barrett Ear refreshments were then served the visitors 1 during which time prof luada a and nd family discoursed sweet r I 1 I 1 11 1 I 1 I i I 1 I 1 1 I 1 k I 1 K 1 1 le the evening was an enjoyable one and will
