in in I 1 mountain view cemetery the corone coroners rs inquest was continued lit ed at 2 yesterday afternoon when the following evidence wan wails adduced deuced edard chatlain fore foreman manof of engine no 1203 the engine which ran over the tile child testified t that ha t the engine was running at about eight miles an hour that he saw the children a as a they left the main track about fitly fifty rods couth south of twenty eighth street and that they nave wave two whistles just after that the valve became disordered and the fireman went to the valve and anti remained there till alter after the accident lie saw the two children w walk alk down the track between the outgoing freight train and the switch engine about ten yards a an ay then he lie saw the child maggie aggie Nl become bewildered and attempt to when she was immediately struck witness eaid there were no rules issued by the company governing the running or control of switch engines patrick mccario mcc ibe atio the engineer testified the corn company lidd never issued any rules as to the rate per hour he should run in the yard he lie ran as fast as the work in the tile yard demanded when the tile valve got out
