salt sau lau lake city utah SIR at a meeting of the ogden Chat of commerce held hold oa tuesday february 25 1890 a ares res alution was asly I 1 aided a sed asking ing he governor a ad d legislative assembly to memorialize lizo congress Coi Cou gress greEs to erect a government building buil at ogden the tile second city in importance in all the inter mountain country and I 1 was w as instructed to have the mer me mem rial prepared and forwarded to the art aident of the council and anti speaker of the tile house with the tile request that th it they present them to the bono honorable rable office and the various other government interests centered in that enterprising and important city wherefore your our memoria liSta respectfully ask that an appropriation of two aundrel and fifty thousand dollars be made for the purpose of constructing eaid said building today to day this memorial received favorable action being adopted by the council while salt lake is is petitioning dioning for similar buildings ogden is alive to her needs need I 1 s and appears not to fear the asking it is to but reasonable to suppose that congress will carefully cons der he the rt quest and if well taken approve the same and appropriate the amount asked the necessity of this building is apparent to all who visit ogden at present the government offices are scattered throughout the city the post denuding the snows are melted rapidly causing fre freshets fresh abete ets in the spring and drought later in the season to the great damage of the inhabitants inhabitants babi tants of salt lake
