introduced b mr richards in the council and there passed its purpose was to strike out certain sheriffs fees due under present statutes for attendance on court during daring the transaction ot of criminal business mr thurman aa as chairman of the committee reported that in the opinion of the tile committee the sheriff sho should uld be paid the necessary fees as long as a bis his attendance at court was required on the substitute brought in for abe porter bill amending th the stock law the house entered into quite a little discussion the preservation of the hide bide of any animal killed ap appeared pearLd to be the bone of contention the members however got on very agreeably the only difference being in opinion and some amendments carried others were lost and the bill is still in a some action of the alouse the bill was therefore referred berred to the committee on highways and after due consideration they reported it back with amendments moving the passage of the bill as amea amended ed under suspension of the rules it was wag passed and immediately returned to the house for concurrence con cuirence the bill aa as amended read as follows i 1 be it enacted by the governor and aase assembly in bly of the territory of utah that section 2034 2084 chapter 13 S 20 of the tile compiled laws of utah of 1888 be and the bime some is hereby amended BO so aa as to read as follows section 2084 A any n y p per son who carelessly or wilfully f 1 ly obstructs ts or injures any public i c or other file highway by causing or permitting flow or seepage of water or who ho wilfully or carelessly permits wat r under h his is control to escape in any man mer so fo as to injure any public ic or other highway and any person who kho shall wilfully ily or cameles carelessly e I 1 P place lace or leae or cause to be places placed or left any log timber atone stone wood or other material arany or any machinery wagon or oilier other vehicle upon any public or other ky in a w way a y aa ef to traveller vellor gerac obstruct the tra travel or end endanger a n property rop or persons passing upon such highway is guilty of a misdemeanor provided that nothing in this section be construed
