Show 1 THE PEOPLE AY word from west weber EDITOR HERALD i probably it is not too late to fell you how we commemorated pioneer day in our isolated village for we are not dead although some are asleep to things of importance all were awake on that day to celebrate did in good earnest commencing at sunrise by hoisting the stars and etri pea the brass band serenaded after which the following procession was formed brass band in uniform red men of the desert with their squads squaws pioneers of 47 battalion men and youn gladies followed by the sunday schools and a numerous train of vehicles after this a program consisting of singing by the choir music by the band and speeches by the bishop and others and a dance for the children was executed the whole concluding with a ball which terminated at 12 all present felt thankful for the peace which they enjoyed on that day in these troublesome times PEACE |
