| Show home elder robert braby of alie first ward who returned from a mis bioti to england last tuesday called thia morning and gave us an interesting account of ins labors in that country lie left here april 1883 and arrived atbright ton his native place twenty days later hero he visited with his relatives for about two weeks and biad a pleasant dirae though he failed to get them interested in the gospel he was first appointed to labor n sussex district and often had tho pleasure of addressing tho people on the level at brighton where his father had frequently preached many years ago during hig absence brother braby labored three months in sussex three months in berkshire eix months in kent four months ill tho north london conference and tho remainder of the time in tho branch he has had for traveling companions elders C C harris charles denney george J dent and C E angell when laboring in kent he baptized a captain of the salvation army and blessed a great number of children many of whose parents were not members of the church ho did not meet with the success however which he desired and at one time became very much dis cou raged with the result of his labors and thought he could do more good at home while so despondent bo one night dreamed that he had returned home and in meeting his friend they invariably him why he had como back so soon being unable to give them a satisfactory reply he soon began to feel much distressed and to wish that ho had remained in his field of labor on awaking ho felt thankful indeed that it was only a dream and ho pursued his labors much more cheerfully during the rest of his mission he was released and left for home on tho alt exactly two years from the time of bis departure from this city while away ho added quite a number to the church and gained a valuable experience peri ence which he appreciates much and lie regards his two years absence as the happiest period of liis life deseret news |
