everything is quiet and no disturbance has occurred and none is expected squads of guards appointed by the knights continually parade the yards protecting the companas comp anys property and dispersing groups of men who became at all excited in discussing the situation and in this way perfect order prevails A rumor to the effect that all the knights employed by all the roads which have yards in eastby louis will strike this evening is in circulation this has been confirmed bv one of the superintendents of the 2 ridge and tunnel co who bays that such a move is certainly in contemplation the knight when questioned about the affair maintained a strict silence and will make no statement in confirmation or denial of the rumor A sub official of missouri pacific roads aard to pass over Bince last passenger trains are made up by yardmasters yard masters and bridge superintendents who also do all the swU clune necessary to bring trains into position at the union depot each road is obliged to use its own engines in up and transferring its cars aa none of the bridge engines are in use the bridge companas comp anys engineers and firemen have not as yet gone out but they refuse to do any of the work which heretofore has been done by shop men such as repairing cleaning etc when an engine becomes injured or ita machinery need cleaning there is none to do the work and the engine is put aside all passenger trains for the east and west have succeed in starling out this morning but all have been more or less delayed on account of the difficulty but few men in the yards and depot have experience in making up trains march 9 fifteen hundred street car laborers in this city and allegheny threaten to strike owing to the discharge of five men who claim they were moist converts in valley is W J conger living upon congers farm is a young mail by the name of boi lings who has been very bitter towards the elders and their converts about six weeks ago bollings Boi lings found a paper near his house stated that mormonism was the only true religion and that unless he joined them within thirty days and used his influence to get his neighbors to join he must leave that section of the country the paper was signed by all of the elders by conger and a number of other converts bollings Boi lings has not left and stated that he did not intend to leave and so far no effort has been made to force him to leave last september or october elder dach came over into county lithio five miles of oxford and in a short time he was joined by elder who came direct from utah hi a had made converts of james tillman and his wife and later on hiram harrison and his duio family till man soon became much enthused with his new religion and declared that be the lord for sending mormon elders to teach him the true religion elders bavis and allred their time while in this section at tho homes of till man and and a few nights ago a committee of citizens surrounded house and called for the elders they happened to be spending that night at the lionso of thomas richards and the committee not finding the objects of their search notified harrison that lie must not let the elders stop at his house again the next day harrison bought a gun and a supply of ammunition and his son wrote the following note to the citizens come to our lionso another night and some of you will
