Show NORTH OGDEN NOTES the ginneral In services oyer he he ollre naoma jones EDITOR HERALD the citizens of our quiet village were thrown into an unusual excitement by a telephone message from mound fort on thursday morning the fourth alt to the effect that the dwelling house of mr ambrose shaw had been burned during the night and that some of the inmates had been severely burned I 1 understand the particulars of the terrible conflagration did not come till a little time later when the news came that two girls the little daughter of mr shaw and the eldest daughter of brother richard jones jr ot this place had been burned to death and their bodies almost consumed which only proved too true brother jones his father and others of his relatives went to the scene of the terrible disaster and in the evening returned to north ogden bringing with them the charred remains of the dear loved one that had but a few days previous paid a visit to her father and her brothers and sisters her mother died about eighteen months ago our young sister has been the light of her fathers family since the mothers demise she was a gentle kind good and affectionate daughter and almost a second mother to her little brothers and sisters who are thrown into such grief and lamentation that langu gage fails ta express them our young sister was born at north ogden oct 1871 lier name was olive naomi and she was of our fellow citizen bro benjamin cazimr sho was also related to mr ambrose shaw mr shaw being her mothers uncle the funeral services were held at the residence of her father yesterday at 2 pm david E garner offered the opening prayer after which elder john W rex and bishop thomas wallace dia coursed upon the uncertainty of life and the certainty of our young sister coming forth in the morning of the first res clothed upon with beauty immortality and eternal life the closing prayer was offered by elder robt G beri rett after which all that remained of the beautiful girl was carried to a last resting place in the north ogden cemetery the services were conducted under the direction of elder richard jones jr constant reader of the HERALD B |
