Show FINE STOCK prospects in we arrived at greasewood farm on sunday evening in goo d shape and found everything all right everything in the quiet town of benjamin is in a nourishing condition the stock on greasewood farm aro in a fine condition and would compare favorably with tho fine block wo saw in the states if they were aa well fed the kinds of block here are of course not BO numerous as they aro m the east wo have only one class of fine stock on this farm the short horn and the trotting boree in tennesee in the vicinity of nashville we saw some farms that breed the race horse and others of fine varieties some farms are paying especial attention to the breeding of short horns jerseys devons and other of the leading breeds of cattle with great success A prominent feature of these breed ers is the care they take of their stock the attention given to the matter of feeding is very great and bus a tendency to greatly improve the animals I 1 think that here in utah we can compete with any part of tho united states if we only pay proper attention to selecting the right class of stock to breed from and give care to feeding etcetera we must remember however that it is impossible to make thorough bleds out of our stock by breeding from scrubs or even halt breeds in my next letter I 1 will give you a description crip tion of the fine stock seen in the states during our recent visit S PAYSON dec |
