Show CENSUS OF-OGDEN TO BE REVISED Special Representative of Census Bureau Arrives and Places a Force of Enumerators in the Field "for the Purpose of Checking Up the Reports Sent In From This City Growth of Offden Startles Census Officials. i It seems to be quite evident to the census bureau that oversights occurred oc-curred and small errors crept Into the returns of Ogden. It Is thought that the census director bases his decision de-cision with regard to Ogden ou the fact that Ogdon's growth has been extraordinary as compared with a majority ma-jority of cities of Its class In tho United Unit-ed States. As in the original enumeration, the Weber club will exert every influence and extend all the assistance possible to the government in this checking up of the Ogden returns. There Is no doslro on the part of any organization, organiza-tion, Individual or set of individuals to pad the census of this city. Alleged discrepancies in tho census cen-sus returns of this city has led the census director to order a partial remuneration re-muneration or checking up in Ogden, snd R. B. Leach, a special agent of tho bureau, arrived here last evening for that purpose. He must complete his work by December De-cember 8 and to facilitate the task Mi. Leach will employ Ave assistants in the partial enumeration. Wllford E. Hart and B. R. Shepherd have already al-ready bon secured. Figures Not Completed. The fact that some Irregularity had occurred became known when the census bureau a few days ago announced an-nounced the population of cities of more than 25,000, and Ogden was not Included In the list A telegram was sent to the census bureau, and In answer an-swer the director announced that the compiling of the figures from Ogden bad not yet been completed. Last City to Receive Attention. Ogden Is the last city to receive tho Attention of the census adjusters. Mr. I-ach has just completed a checking up of the returns from Spokane, Port-laud Port-laud and Seattle, and he found it r-coBsary" to make reductions In all three cities. Whether or not he will bo obliged to take, a similar action jlih regards to Ogden remains to be seen.
