Show OGDEN AS A PLACE FOR INVESTMENT. With all the building activity that is in progress and in sight, and with all the railroad work that is underway in Ogden and to the west of us along the cut-off and further west in Nevada, and with the farmers promising a bumper crop of beets and other farm produce, pro-duce, Ogden should enjoy the most prosperous year in its history. Today there is not a vacant modern houso for rent in the city, which proves that there must be much more building before the requirements re-quirements of our growing population are satisfactorily met. It further proves that Ogden, if anything, is too conservative in its building operations. Our men of money should begin to encourage the erection of more modern cottages as homes for our people or available places for those who desire to be tenants. Absolutely devoid of anything approaching inflated values, Ogden Og-den real estate should be the most attractive investment for the people, not only of Ogden, but of the intermountain country. Where there is a boom, investments are constantly in jeopardy. Sometimes boom profits are large, for they are in a class with mining ventures and, to be tempting mu6t promise large returns, but the risk is proportionately pro-portionately great. For the men who are wiling to place their accumulations ac-cumulations in danger of total obliteration in order to gain extraordinary extraor-dinary profits, the boom city has its attractions, but for the great body of investors, who arc constantly endeavoring to eliminate the gambling element from their investments, a city like Ogden, with its rich real estate offerings and its solid and substantial foundation, should prove most inviting. |
