Show COAL AGAIN IS SCARCE ARTICLE A few cars of coal arrived In tho city yesterday and they were quickly distributed among the people. It was the breaking f the Sabbath day but so eager were the people to gt coal, that the dealers and those who hauled the coal expressed the thought this , morning that the cause well Justified the violation of the commandment that the Sabbath day shall be a day of resL This helped matters, but tho Judgment Judg-ment of the coal men Is that there , was not near enough coal unloaded In Oeden from th railway cars yesterday yes-terday to reach the point 'of offering any great relief. The situation seemed seem-ed to be no better this morning than It was Saturday. There was hardly n pound of coal at the yards and scores of people were complaining that their bins were empty. It Is hoped, and confidently expected, that enough coal will arrive in the city during the day to supply the most urgent needs and that no one will suffering for want of fuel. . It Is estimated by the coal dealers that there should be at least ten tons of coal unloaded In Ogden, for commercial com-mercial purpoKes, each day, for a cum-1 cum-1 ber of days. In order to overcome tho shortage and place the deaders in a position where they will be able to fill all orders. They say that it all depends upon the railroads to relievo the coal conditions of the city, tho hopo being expressed that they will be able to do so Only limited quantities quan-tities of coal can bo delivered to each Individual until the stringency Is over. The coal men say they have hundreds hun-dreds of orders for fuel and that they will bo filled at tho earliest possible moment. |
