The government alleges that these lends were filed upon by "dummy" entrjmen for the benefit of the Owl Creek Coal company and the Northwestern North-western Coal companv, which arc, controlled con-trolled largely by New York capitalists. capital-ists. The two companies are reported so be associated with the Chicago, Burlington & Qulney railroad. The cases arc commonly known as the "Gebo Cal Land Fraud cases," as Samuel W. Gebo, Georee W. An Injunction suit was brought in the United States court nt CheyennA recently by the government, govern-ment, asking that the Owl Creek Coal company be restrained from operating coal mines at Gebo, Big Horn county, which aro said to bo producing 7i0 tons of coal dally. A temporary restraining re-straining order was granted by the court and more than a thousand miners min-ers wore thrown out of work. Tohn A. Williams, examiner of the land offlro, will hear the rases and 'aptain Geo. H. Hair, chief of the field division of the land office at .Salt Lake, will act as registrar.
