Impressive funeral sor-vices sor-vices over tho remains of Saburo Ich-imura, Ich-imura, the prominent Japanese banker who was murdered by desperate des-perate highwaymen at the Japanese mission house last Saturday night, were held at the Church of the Good Shepherd yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. C. Suzuki, a local Japanese Japa-nese minister, and the Rev. V. W. Fleetwood, rector of the church, paid beautiful trtbutes to the memory of the dead man, who had been a devout de-vout Christian since his confirmation some time ago. The Japanese minister min-ister spoke eloquently of the day of resurrection, when all men will be Judged according to their deeds on this earth. Rev. Fleetwood and Japanese Japa-nese friends f the dead man also spoke eloquently of the Christian attributes at-tributes of tho departed. The church choir gte a numler of appropriate selections, after which the cortege was formed and the remains, re-mains, headed by Agee's band, playing play-ing a funeral dirge, were escorted to the city cemetery fur burial. Over one hundred Japanese friends of the dead followed the remains i n foot and In vehicles to the last resting place. |
