The membership committee reported report-ed favcrlng the bestowing of honorary membership upon Judge A, B. Patton, who. since 1SS9, has been an active and aj gresslve member of tho Ogden Chamber of Commerce and for several year vast Its president. One of the succMrful enterprises which is placed to the credit of Judge Patton is the removal of thc Southern Pacific shops from Terrace to Ogden in 1893. This corning as it did at a period of great business depression was of great benefit bene-fit to this city. The recommendation of the committee was adopted. The advertising committee presented present-ed a resolution which was adopted, asking that the real estate association, associa-tion, the Weber club, the manufacturers manufactur-ers and other commercial organizations organiza-tions be requested to co-operate with , the Chamber of Commerce in a campaign cam-paign to advertise Ogdeu and vicinity. A lengthy discussion on the question ques-tion of an electric light plant to bo owned by the city ended In the public pub-lic utilities committee being asked to investigate the possibilities. The same action was tafcen regarding the extension of water mains into outlying outly-ing districts of the city. |
