Show DEMIJOHN MAKES RICH ORE STRIKE Over $2,000 to Ton Golden Prince Is Opening up Much Better. During last week some startling strikes were made in the old Ploche district. The district to the southwest of the town of Ploche has more than made good in discovering tho presence of some fine ere The Prince Consol idated has long been one or the big mines of the country and the big mlno of this district. Along what is believed be-lieved to be the same vein, no less than three' strikes were maae at as many different properties last week. On Monday General Manager Bailey of the Pioche Dimijohn received some samples taken from the vein encount- ered in the south drift of the property between the first and second levels. Tho vel-i was about 20 feet from the shaft. From the high grado streak i that was probably two IncTies wide a sample was taken and from the entire en-tire width of tho vein an average sample sam-ple was taken. An assay made of the ore in Salt Lake showed $15 60 in gold; 4.229.2 ounces tn silver and 63.2 per cent lead This'would make the ere worth more than $2,141 a ton. The average sample was nor much behind be-hind the fine showing of high grade. It showed the presence of $9 20 in gold; 1,142.2 ounces of silver and IS. 3 per cent lead. - The ore was an Iron carbonate and quartz. The vein appears to bo di?v ping deeper and it is believed that It will be but ?i short time before the entire drift Is in ore. At the Golden Prince which lies along the same "mineral belt, tho ore is said to be opening up better and stronger. Two strikes have neen mado in this propei ty. One at the bottom of the shaft ?nd the other In a drift on an upper level. As yet the values are not high, but are Indicative of the presence of a better grade or ore as soon as the main channel is encountered. |
