Show VACANCIES SOON WILL BE FILLED CITY SCHOOL BOARD ELECTS THIRTY NEW TEACHERS. Work on High School Building Is Progressing Pro-gressing Rapidly and Will Be Completed In September. The board of education held their regular meeting last night, at which It was reported that at the special meeting held Monday afternoon, thirty teachers were elected to positions In the city schools at salaries ranging from $25 per month to $700 per year. Twelve recent High school graduates I were appointed to positions as assistants assist-ants in the various schools. Superintendent Mills reported that 60 far 127 teachers had signed up for positions in tne schools and that he anticipated no trouble In securing ihe balance of the 150 necessary neces-sary to complete the list Leslie Hodgson, the architect In charge of the work on the new High school building, appeared before tho , board and reported that work upon the building was progressing rapidly and that he expected It to be ready fo: occupancy In plenty o time for the opening of the school year. The board voted to install the Frlck system of electric clocks in the new High school building, consisting of one master and forty-four subordinate subordi-nate elocks. to be Installed In the various vari-ous rooms and halls of the building. They also voted to provide kindergartens kindergar-tens In all the school buildings, and the necessary equipment for thoso schools which have not heretofore had , kindergartens was ordered purchased i at once. Mr. Mills said that any graduate of the local High i school who wished to try for one of , thee scholarships should make application appli-cation to him.
