Scald a pint of Indian meal with enough boiling water to make a smooth batter; add a small teaspoou-ful teaspoou-ful of salt, and a lump of butter the size of a walnut. Stir the batter briskly, brisk-ly, put in a well greased tin, and spread sweet cream orbutter over tho top. Put it In to bake in a hot oven, let it brown well on both top and bottom, bot-tom, and eat hot with plenty of butter. but-ter. This cake really Is dedlclous.
