An official Investigation is under way today at the mine of tho Canadian (Collerles Limited to determine the GAUSS of an explosion In the mine Thursday, which resulted In the death of 15 men and Injuries toll others, two probably crippled for life. James McGregor, inspector for tho mlnea of the province of British Columbia, Co-lumbia, arrived here Thursday ac-companled ac-companled by George Wilkinson, mining min-ing engineer and heard statements from officials f the mine who were unable to advance a theory as to tho cause of the explosion. The first party of rescuers who went into the mine Immediately after the explosion found the dead and injured in-jured men burled under a cave-In caused by the blast, two miles from the surface Forty-four men, seventeenl white and the remainder orientals, were on duty (n the mini' where the explosion occurred.
