Aug. 29 The New York Americans increased their lead over St. Louis to a game and a half Monday, defeating the Browns In a thrilling eleven-Inning pitchers' bat-tie, bat-tie, 2 to 1. The victory gave the Yan-ki Yan-ki es two games out of the four-game Shocker, who won the. first game I of the aeries found a stubborn oppon- I ent in Bob Bhawkey. Bhawkey pitched one of the best games of his career and finally triumphed over his famous fam-ous rival from St. Ijouls. The game remained deadlocked until un-til the eleventh, when Dugan led off with a single Ruth filed to the infield, in-field, but Plpp's single past Sisler advanced ad-vanced Dugan to third. Schang was Intentionally passed, and Meusol drove out a sacrifice fly to Tobln which was so d. p that no effort was made to u-et Dugan at the plate.
