Loonstraw of tho alt mall service, who has been missing1 sine- he left Salt Lakt at 7:30 o'clock yesterday morning for Kock Spring, Wyn., has yet been found. He was seen to leave the field hen? for the east and bear off to the south, j and it ls believed that he tried to make it out of the valley through ' Little Cottonwood canyon or perhaps : a3 far south as Provo canyon. The clouds were so low yesterday I that It was necessary to go out ' through the lowest point in order to get over tho mountains east of hero. When no word was received from Kock Springs lno,uirlo3 were sent out from the Salt Lake oftlce to towns over which he might have passed. Calls were put In at Heber, Evans- I ton. Coalville and other places, but no word had been received at a lat liour last night. It ls feared that Loonstraw has been forced to land somewhere in the mountains and is either Injured or unable to get to a ' point of communication. A scouting plane was sent out this morning to look for the lost aviator and S'-orch parties will start out from towns near which he might have! landed. nn |
