Show MRS. HIRSH WILL FACE PROSECUTION FREEPORT. N. Y . June 28 A doc tor sent by Assistant District Attorney Attor-ney Edwards to examine Oscar A. Hlrsh. who was shot on the lawn of! tho home of Miss Rene Davios, actress, ac-tress, last Saturday night, returned w ith the report that he was denied l ! admittance to the house. He was told, he said, that he would ! first have to get permission tron. I George M. Levy. 1 uiinsd for Mrs 1 Hlrsh, who Is charged with having shot her husband. The assistant district attorney made it clear that he Intended to prosecute Mrs Hirsh for the alleged shooting of her husband. "This Is a clear case of assault In the first degree." he said, "and I In-1 tend to present it to the grand jury j as such when it meets Thursday." Mrs. Hlrsh, who is free on $25,000 1 ball, will be given a hearing in the Freeport police court on Thursday. Mr Edwards has subpoenaed many of the guests at BflSS Davies' party for the gTand Jury investigation II" would not. reveal their names, but it is believed several of them are residents resi-dents of tho theatrical colony where Miss Davlen and the Hlrshes have homes. Important points which Mr. Ed wards expects to clear up at the grand jury inquiry are. the cause of the shooting, who held the automatic pistol pis-tol when the shot was fired, and the connection of the second pistol found outside the Davies garden has with the case. |
