Show Governor Extends Congratulations to New Marshal Following a conference yesterday afternoon with tax levying bodies of the county, Governor Charles P. Mabey Ma-bey called upon Commissioner J. Ray Ward in his office In the city hall and extended his congratulations to Commissioner Com-missioner Ward on his recent nomination nomi-nation as United States marshal for Utah. Governor Mabey offered his eo-operatlon to Commissioner Ward In his new office. The governor and Commissioner Ward served together in the 145th ar- I tillery regiment during the war and became fast friends. During his visit yesterday th governor recalled many of his experiences in the army. Commissioner Ward said this morning morn-ing that there is yet one deputy to appoint, but declared It unlikely that this man would be drawn from Weber We-ber county He said that while he has made the choice of the second deputy ho will probably appoint n Salt Iwike man Hyrum f Pack of Bountiful has been chosen as office deputy . |
