Members of the football rules committee gathered gath-ered here today to discuss many changes suggested by tho Football Coaches' association, which was In conference' the first of the week AmoiiK some of the suggestions were tho removal if the rule barring tackling tack-ling below the knees, provision of an extra period in case of a tie. and abolishment abol-ishment of the goal after touchdown. I It is the general opinion that no radical changes will be made. Among the suggested changes are: That an extra period be played in case the game ends In a tie. i That a forward, pass, grounded le-hlnd le-hlnd the line of scrimmage, shall become be-come a free ball. That a game shall e based on a certain number of plays instead of a c i rtaln number oi minutes. That ufter a safety has been scored scor-ed plav shall bi resumed on the forty-third lino Instead of the twenty-yard twenty-yard line. That numbering of pluyera shall be compulsory. One or more changes may he made in Che personnel of the committee' which now comprises fourteen member |
