Show HIGH COST OF CANS VILL BE DISCUSSED Excessive freight rates and high prices on cans nnd canned goods ma- i terials will bo the subjects to be discussed dis-cussed at the next meeting of tho Utah Canners' association, it was an- I nounced today. The meeting will be I held In the Ogden offices with President Presi-dent W. J. Parker presiding, Kebru- ary 15- President W. H. Phelps of the American Can Company, with general J headquarters In New York, will bo ono of the principal speakers at tho coming com-ing conference He will coni'er with members of tho Utah organization relative rel-ative to tho price of cans and other materials Packs for 1922 will not be considered consid-ered until after the coming confer- once. This opinion Is held by members mem-bers of the I'tuh Canners' association associa-tion in view of tho fact that many of! the plants In the state will not be able to operate unless better freight i rates are obtained and unless there is ' a. reduction in tho price of cans. Many of the members of the Utah 1 organization , say that despite the fact J that other commodities were reduced in 1921 the price of cans aviated. Tho conference with regard to , freight rates will also be hold on Fcb- I ruary 15. |
