Show OBITUARY IV BROWN wo we regret that we ire havo have occasion to record the demise of james IV eldest son on of james M mand and adelaide brown of this city deceased was wa born at fort aupp supply y wyoming ilien then utah territory ory on n the tf of juno june 1850 1856 being 11 at hi his s death sept 1883 3 1 27 1 y years 0 ar 3 mont months lis and 5 3 days old in the full fall of his father camo came with his family to ogden and lias has re res sided here eer ever since james IV waa was an industrious hard liard working man ho lie followed the plasters plaster ing trade for the last ten vears two or three years y e a r a ago lie went to mon tana talia and worked several months at his trade and while there ho lie caught a cold which finally res resulted in baij death in june last at the death of his brother adelbert his physical condition was wasso so that tho the trouble rendered him entirely incapable of laboring g A high fever seized aciz gd upon b him im and lasted for several weeks jamea james seemed to be conscious of the near approach of dc death ath and would often make remarks about it the causo cause of his early demise i was vas lun lung disease though ii there ere is a difference of op opinion as to tho the real nature of it some pronounced it consumption while others say it was typhoid pneumonia however hoi ever it is not hereditary it being caused mused entirely through exposure little need bo said of the moral c character cliar har acter of brother jamea james IV brown as ho lie was known in this corn to bo be an honest truthful I 1 and straightforward young man liberal in contributing his means to relieving the tile needy and distressed the funeral services were conducted by bishop B C Cri critchlow w nt at the tile reside residence of his father on south I 1 I 1 main fain street on tho tile of september many friends and relatives assembled to pay a last tribute of re 8 pact to the departed the speakers were respectively elders jas burch G athill it hill and wm win W fidei fife also presidents tC F and bishop B C critchlow all sooko in ill the tile highest terms of brother brown they having g been acquainted with him from his in infancy many words of consolation were given to the tile bereaved family tho the services eg led ded aith singing an appropriate hymn and prayer by brother james burch tho Tha collin coffin containing there alio remains of brother james W brown was then placed in tho the hearse of mr frank A gale and headed ly the tile rout fourth th ward brass band to which james formerly belonged followed by many carriages was colive conveyed ed to tho the cemetery and lind laid a away ay in in the silent tomb where bro yam james es will rest from froin his labors until the trumpet shall sound when ho will come forth and be reunited with ills his rela rola eions and friends in the bondson eternal happiness never more to be separated wo we sincerely condole with the bereaved parents and brothers abid M in the great affliction that lias has como come upon them that of losing two of their promising sow and rathers brothers in the short space of four months in conclusion the friends and relatives heartily thank tho the band an and their numerous friends who so read readily 11 rendered that assistance winch which on such occasions is so timely communicated |
