officers of this little province to assemble upon a mountain so called called ove we would call it a mound and publicly proclaim in the hearing of tho tile people who still assemble in great numbers upon such occasions all ill the laws that have been framed during during the year last passed the mouna mound is said to bo be formed from earth taken from froin all the parishes of the island and ia is regarded as a verp very sacred from a neighboring church where DIVINE SERVICE is first held the procession of E executive bec legislative aud and ecclesiastical asti dignitaries move solemnly up to the mount clad in all their paraphernalia pher nalia of office and after ascending to its summit seat themselves beneath the elevated canopy and prepare to proclaim tho the laws the people who still assemble fro from in far aud and near upon such occasions arrange themselves upon parallel terraces cut into the circum circumference fe rence of the hill and which extend from its base to its summit
