cespon responded led to this morning by tho the attendance of a fair re representation presen ta of the delegates and a large number of olour our prominent citizens the meeting was called to order at 11 am nan by chairman thos D dee who briefly stated the object of the assemblage he said that a committee had been appointed by the convention of ot the peoples party to prepare an address to the retiring officers of weber county coun ty this committee was now ready to report wright chairman of the committee stated that a paper had been prepared in consonance i with the feelings of the committee and tho the instructions of the convention and at his request the secretary of the committee read the following to the honorable Fran FranU ilin inD D richards probate judge and other retiring tiring Kr of fibers of beber county GENTLEMEN on behalf of the people whose will wo voice wo we offer to you this slight tribute of appreciation the people of weber county are proud of the men who have for many years past occupied po positions tiona of trust within glicr ter confines eon fines and now that tile day is 13 almost here when you will retire for the present from active of facial life fife we cannot permit yon to take the place bf your modest modest choice without giving pi ving expression to the gratitude which we feel toward those who have served tile public with such devotion and integrity to your united efforts and the mutual work of your predecessors weber county is largely indebted for her proud tid rank of one of the beadi leading ro counties aties in the territory of utah A wise administration of 0 affairs here has made our growth in population in wealth and in ili the good reputation so necessary to public well being bein constantia progressive you have maintained us free from debt and from burdensome taxes you have provided in consonance with our revenue and population fine school facilities and have used used your best efforts to give aducat weber county a system of public records unexcelled ill in the tile united stated you yon have worked early and late to advance our material interests without receiving adequate financial compensation and often without even due appreciation your services we lve respect and thank you for your fidelity and enterprise we regret the necessity which you feel for withdrawing from public life though we
