Show A missionary we had bad a pleasant call cal I 1 tod today to d day Y from E elder ider william D williams one of the missionaries who returned cit with the company of immigrants who arrived here on the first of slay may E elder ider williams left hero here on a mission to great britain on the alth of june 1880 arrived in liverpool july 2nd and P and was soon after appointed to labor in the welsh conference in company with elder john evans he ile traveled through north and south wales preace preaching I 1 ling the gospel to nil all who would listen and bearing testimony of the tile great work which the lord lias has established in these last days for the salvation of all who will receive it elder williams visited eighty six own blood relations but none done of them embraced mormonism neither would they receive his testimony although many of them treated him with great kindness ho ile continued to labor in the welsh conference until the alth of march 1881 when ho he was appointed to labor in the sheffield conference until lie was released to return home while laboring in the ministry lie distributed among the people many hundreds of the church works and baptized a number into the church the latter day saints are not so numerous in E england or wales as they were formerly nearly all have gatli gathered cred with the body of the church into these valleys they emigrate as fast as they come into the church which keeps the number in those countries small E elder ider williams enjoyed good health during ills his absence lie ile looks lialo liale and hearty and is pleased to bo be once more among his fi bends in in his mountain home we bid him welcome |
