Show injured badly this morning our reporter report Cr saw a man on the U 0 car who had his bis eyes bandaged and seemed to bo be in great pain on inquiry he learned that the persons name was thomas wilson that he had just arrived at tho the depot from a mining camp cam on snake river about three hundred bun red miles north of here about two weeks since ince while wilson and others were at work removing ore which they dumped into a hole ble near by a sudden explosion took place which scattered the large rocks and small mineral missiles in alt all directions severely injuring three of the men among whom was thomas wilson the explosion was caused by giant powder which had bad previously been placed in the hole holc and had been there all winter but of which fact the these te men were ignorant ign crant the email small stuff was blown into his eyes almost blinding him and a large sized rock struck him in tho the head making an ugly cut causing causin 9 severe pain for several days dayis he be feared 11 he would lose the eight sight of both his eyes after resting and doing all he ivas able to relieve his suffering quit ering as there was but little help to be obtained there he be started on foot for ogden about ten days since the first three days he was helped by a former fellow work roan man but he be got employment on the railroad so lie stayed behind and wilson came on alone iio ile told our reporter that his route lay across the tile sandy desert some 82 miles long which he crossed at night dight the afflicted miner went to salt lake city today to day to try to get admitted into tho the hospital the other two injured persons went to deer lodge mont where they expected to obtain assistance |
