Show decoration ray Day tho the most prominent feature of decoration day which was ivas more generally observed in this city yesterday than any previous year was the tile process procession ion and other celebration by the G A R about 10 ael ock th alie c procession was formed on oil fourth street in front of odd fellows hall and was composed of the following ogden Brass Band knights of pythias john A dix post no fire brigade citizens in carriages q the greater P part art of t the io participants being clad in their gay uniforms the proudly floa floating till stars and stripes and the beautiful buo busquets and wreaths gave th the c procession sion a picturesque aspect I it marched tomain to fifth west to Fourth and thence x up p to the tile cemetery wil where ere imposing ceremonies were held in accordance with the ritual of the G A R over the graves of comrades gale and tollman following were the exercises at the cemetery P prayer ray er by VM C silva F funeral ceremonies by G A R prayer by rev JF Knowles oration by post commander capt R smith poem the blue and the tile grey read by capt smith closing prayer by rev A W adkinson after this the procession recession returned to the city ant and dispersed at the point of starting the diffie different rent organizations who responded to the invitation of the tile G A it to participate in this anniversary ver sary have the tile thanks of john A dix post no as expressed in the following official communication at the meeting of the john A dix post G A it after the decoration service of yesterday it was that the members of this post heartily appreciate the generous and patriotic motive of the tile knights of pythias the fire Briga brigade dc tile members of tile city band of ogden and our fellow citizens generally who assisted tile G A 11 II in ohp commemorative services of decoration day and that this post hereby tender its thanks to each and all who aided in the observance of the day RAss Form L B STEPHENS post commander post adjutant |
