Show fyon wednesdays daily aug r letter of indignation EDITOR JUNCTIONS in your issue of monday last there appeared a letter from one of mr lewis friends in that who will see him through letter appears the following clause viz there is a clasa of people dwelling around the corner of franklin and seventh streets of the low mob type who love sensation too bath sides of B investigate well to question or still better to mind their own business the above statement la one of the vilest falsehoods which I have eeck in print the company of ladies who are referred to in the statement as being of a low mob type acro at and singing at my an organ practice called house when their attention was to the cry of murder I the ladies ran to learn the cause of the outcry they did not mob nor molest mr lewis but their indignation cannot be expressed in words when they saw the naked child weltering under the heavy rod in the hands of his cruel parent I have raised thirteen children in i the locality where I now reside they in our city for good habits and courteous deportment my own life and conduct are open to the closest scrutiny and I am not under the necessity of getting the help of a nameless letter to set me right before this community I live around the corner of franklin and seventh streets and that locality has never been disgraced by such scenes as those endorsed by one of his friends the details which I could give for publication in connection with this matter are unfit to print respectfully yours THOMAS august |
