Show from saturdays daily jofay SJ A horse yesterday a rebellious borso caused an accident which came very near terminating fatally sir john fry of the grovo brewery was driving to town with hia single horse buggy with richter mr jas L dec and bis son john the conveyance mr richter and mr dee occupying tho feat while the boy was in the back mr fry driving catch on tha knees of the two other gentlemen when about 40 rods north of alie ogden river bridge a clavis came on tho lines got en tangled and torn out of tho drivers hands the borso taking advantage of the per situation and starting oft at a more alian lively rate mr fry received a portion of the strong impetus and was nearly thrown out of the vehicle when ardee held him back while trying to recover his balance however mr fry was again thrown and tills time forward on the ground between horse and buggy the former stepping out rapidly and dragging the carriage over the prostrate man who by a wonder escaped serious injuries and was only slightly bruised in the back the horse was all this time driving off at a furious rate and the gentlemen had lost all management of the refractory animal mr dee took a bold leap sideways had liis foot caught in the bind wheel and received considerable bruises OB his right arm mr luchter was the last man to leave tho dangerous vehicle while ho was getting out at the back the impetus of the conveyance prostrated him to the ground headlong stunning hau entirely for a while As soon as the other gen allemen had picked themselves up they hurried to the assistance of mr bichter who was bleeding profusely from nostrils and mouth and two bad bruises received in the face whilo they were restoring their friend to consciousness and sponging his face dr williams of this city happened to come along in a buggy as also some other gentleman in another vehicle mr richter was carefully placed in aba latter and bakon to mr juliu frys residence on third street whither the other gentlemen followed him with dr williams the latter gentleman examined mr Rich tera injuries and was glad to state that no bones had been broken by the unfortunate fall all possible care was taken with tho tand this morning mr richter was so far restored as to be able to return to the grove the other gentlemen feel pretty sore yet but are able to attend to their business receiving the congratulations of their numerous friends at their preservation from greater harm |
