His reasons for his brief period of frenzied flnanci have never been clear to the officers: who heard Hamptons story following! the arrest Hampton spent several weeks in the county Jail and finally was released upon flOOo bonds. He entered a plea of not guilty when arraigned before Judge A E Pratt. Counsel for Hampton asked that tho case be continued In order that thej be allowed time in which to plan the defense.
