Duffy was absent from the Copper team which somewhat handicapped them and at the call of half time no score was registered. The Callies had the wind in the second half and put some spirit into the play, but Bingham was dangerous danger-ous at all times. After its left w:ing had worked the ball well down the field, in a melee in the Scots' goal, McDonald handled the ball under the bar in the belief that the whistle had blown for a foul against Copper. His mistake gave Bingham a penulty kick, from which Bryan scored for Utah Copper. The Callies came back after this reverse and peppered the Copper defense, but Denver and Wharton saved until in a mixup in the penalty area a penalty was awarded the Callies, Cal-lies, from which Walker equalized. The second goal for the Callies was a surprise, for Shutt punted into Bingham's goal from nearly forty yards out, the ball striking the post and dropping near Young, who wheeled wheel-ed on his heel and netted the winning goal. . Bingham worked the ball repeatedly repeated-ly to the Scots' defensive quarters, but the backs played a steady defensive game until time was called. It is said the work ceased on Sunday, which is much regretted re-gretted as the Utah Apex company was intending to put on an extra force of 150 men on Monday morning morn-ing had not orders for the suspension of work arrived. It is understood that the contention of the Utah Apex Mining Co. is that the work thru the Utah Deleware has been done on the Apex vein, altho the ore may extend into the sidelines of the Utah Deleware, Under the apex law, this ore belongs to the Apex property. However, had the ore extended ex-tended through the end lines of the Utah Deleware, the apex rights would not hold, it is contended. The Utah Apex believes it can show-clearly show-clearly it has the apex rights to this ore. It is said altho Shipping has been stopped an amicable settlement will be made by two companies without with-out being involved in litigation.
