This winter, as the storms cover the 'pathways and fill the streets' with snow, an innovation ixi l'tah is to appear. The city, keeping abreast of the times, lias purchased a tractor plow, and will be in' line with New York City which has just begun to equip its stree I department with these moUir-propelled plows, in preparation for the! winter task nf keeping the BidewaQca and streets open to traffic. When the tractor is not bucking snow, it will be employed in the work now done by trams, and the saving to the city should be, considerable. Inventive genius ami mechanical skill are doing much for humanity, hu-manity, and no institution is benefiting more from this Bourcee than the municipality. |
