The motion picture, "A Daughter of Two Worlds," starring Norma Tal- madge, which will be seen at tho Or-pheum Or-pheum theater, beginning tomorrow, is an adaptation of tho novel of the samo name by Lc Roy Scott, one of the highest priced and foremost authors of the country. One of his works, "Mary Regan," was' recently picturized with Anita Stewart as the star and made a hit with the movie fans. A DramatlBt of Actions. In the main, however, It follows the general plot, taking the heroine, Jennie, pretty daughter of Black Jerry Malone, the one wholesome character of his underworld dance hall, through the bottom and top of life, Jennie, whose part Is takon by Miss Talmadge, lives In two worlds. She emerges from the slums to enter so- n ciety under an assumed name after be- I ing spirited away to a fashionable I boarding school to escape jail on a J charge of forgery, a crime that she did not commit. In her new environment she meets the man of her heart, but when the life of a friend of the other world, wrongly accused Of murder, depends solely upon her, Jennie is forced to decide de-cide whether she shall continue living a He, with the alternative of losing everything she holds dear. |
