Show 1 Bryan Proposes Action by Democratic Party DES MOINES. Ia., Jan. 14. If unable un-able to effect an acceptable agreement with Republican senators on the pence treaty and league of nations, William J. Bryan here last night said he would have thc Democrats permit, and possi-bly possi-bly assist indirectly the Republicans in exercising their majority power in the senate in doing what they wish Then, if the Republicans did not leave in ihe treaty and league covenant what the Democrats thought should be there, Mr. Bryan said he would l'aVor taking the whole matter before tha people in the campaign, and discussing it along with domestic issues. He would have his party ask the people for authority to replace what the Re-publicans Re-publicans had taken out, he declared, and by that plan, the Democratic par-ty par-ty could not be held responsible for delay in final declaration of peace. |
