Sept 24 President II Wilson saw his first Wyoming crowd at Rawlins and w;is cheered When the presidential train Btopped there for wa- ter, shortly after lit o'clock this uiorn- The train stopped again at Hanna a Hi roal mining toivn, and the president II whs welcomed by h crowd of miners and children. Several children were I close to the rear end of the private car Mayflower When tin engineer suddenly sud-denly backed the train a few feet the president showed concern for their safety arid directed that the children be hustled out of the way. President Wilson devoted part of the da to reading newspapers picked up at Rawlins and scanned with interest news of the steel strike. The president Still was without official information ' concerning the strike. |
