Kveryone who took part did exceedingly well. Thesinging was good, the oration by W. M. Hoyden was just as good as though given by an orator from other parts, anil the exercises were liuh'r entertaining. In the afternoon the city park was crowded with people. A dance was given in the pavilion for the chlldrea, ami the little tots greatly enjoyed them selves. The base ball game between the juvenile team and the picked nine ol oid time players was an Interesting contest, con-test, and the way the little fellows showed show-ed the men how to play waa very amusing. amus-ing. At the end of the eight innings the score stood ::' to SJ III favor of the big fellows Foot raceg were run, and at It o'clock the horse races were run on the court house hill, and the animals, owned hy William McMichael and Ian iomniers won the races. There was no dance here at night, on account of not being able to get music, so everybody went to Hoytsville aud the large amusement hall was packed, about 126 couples lieing present. |
