Show AO Noxious Weeds Must Be Removed, Even In the City a warning to all property owners ini the city to estroy all noxious weeds, is made public today by C. E. Petti - i -rew, county crop pest inspector, in a communication to the city commis- j ioners. The matter was referred to the street supervisor and he will require' all property owners to destroy weeds about their premises at once. A com-j plaint has been made by residents on Butler avenue that the weeds are so high along the sidewalks that pedestrians pedes-trians are obliged to walk in the street roadway One woman made a complaint com-plaint to a representative of the Standard Stan-dard yesterday in which she stated that one day last week there was a parly of eighteen women who had! business on that street and found, movement very difficult. .Mr I'ettigrew calls attention to the state law, which requires that property owners remove noxious weeds. He says : "In compliance with the state weed, law enacted by the las! legislature, declaring burdock, bull thistle, cockle burr, etc , noxious weeds and providing provid-ing for the destruction of said weeds by property owners, I hereby set July 10th as date for cutting and destroying destroy-ing of these weeds, and request that all canal companies, railroad com - I p. inif-, farmers or occupants of land,) and property owners destroy all nox-lous nox-lous weeds on their property within Weber county. I also call attention to the provision in the state weed law to the i ffeel thai unless these weeds are cleaned up by the date set for such tutting, it shall be the duty of the Inspector to have this work done at the expense ot the property owners, to be collected as a tax upon said prop erty. |
